A new birth time has surfaced for
Senator Barack Obama.

Here is the opinion
about the birth time from
Astrodatabank:
On May 15,
2008 at [the United Astrology
Conference in] Denver, [CVA member]
Joni Patry announced that a client
of hers knows someone who works on
Obama’s campaign and who reports
that Obama’s time of birth is 7:11
PM, from birth certificate. As this
data cannot be confirmed or
verified, we must keep the Rodden
Rating of DD; however it is an
interesting piece of news and does
seem more reliable than the other
times we have collected and posted
to date. Previously, various times
of birth have been circulated or
posted. A time of 1:06 PM was
provided by Fran McEvoy who told PT
she couldn’t remember who gave it to
her. She said that the person
reportedly obtained the time from
Obama and wished to remain
anonymous. McEvoy adamantly denied
that she heard it from Obama at a
"shout-out" in NH as reported in the
Andrew Mangino article in the NY
Observer online of July 24, 2007. PT
has received e-mails or seen
postings listing 9:51 AM, 10:02 AM,
1:15 PM, 2:10 AM, 6:10 AM, “1-3 AM,”
and “Virgo rising,” but these times
have either been acknowledged to be
speculation, rectification or
otherwise not traceable to an
original or reliable source.
Joni also said that her
client who did not want to be identified
was one of the campaign financial
managers and had seen the certificate on
a government website.
Whatever the true time
for Sen. Obama, the great strength of
his day of birth is the union of Jupiter
and Saturn in Brahma Yoga. The
Jupiter-Saturn link is epochal. It times
the cycles of generations. It is the
merger of the two aspects of leadership
— discipline and vision. In Brahma Yoga
Shani or Saturn, lord of time, whose
alter ego is Yama, ruler of mortality,
is linked to Jupiter, Brihaspati, lord
of wisdom and of eternity, the vast.
This conjunction comes in Capricorn, the
sign that takes the hardest look at
reality, the problem solver of the
rashis.
Those with the union of
these two principles that circumscribe
the ancient borders of the solar system
seek to enlarge the vision of what is
possible. These are the ones who bring
in a new paradigm that once a generation
brings a fresh approach to historical
unfoldings.
Obama was born a month
after Diana, Princess of Wales, who
upended traditional attitudes toward
monarchy in Britain by her desperate
rebellion against a hypocritical
marriage. He was born at the moment of
the Cuban Revolution, the building of
the Berlin Wall, and in the year of the
first space flight. Amnesty
International was founded and the
Beatles opened richer strains of feeling
in the culture of the world’s youth.
Rahu was joined to its child Uranus-Prajapati,
and was just descending past Pluto-Yama.1
When Uranus and Pluto, Prajapati and
Yama, united, the fullblown 60’s
counterculture bloomed in recoil against
war and homage to freedom.
Born soon after the
escalation of the Vietnam War by JFK,
Obama emerged to leadership as he
protested another ill-begotten war. It
seems fitting that Obama’s true chart
should have the Jupiter Saturn union
rising. Prominence and leadership has to
be defined by extraordinary
configurations in the chart. If Hillary
Clinton were born at night instead of at
8 am, her chart would lack all the
out-of-the-ordinary resilient power
furnished by the exchange of Moon in
Aquarius and Saturn in Cancer. If Barack
Obama does not have a strong
relationship by rising sign to the
outstanding yoga of his day, how can he
be a marked individual? Saturn in the
kendra considered just by itself forms a
Mahapurusha yoga, and has the strongest
shadbala of any of the grahas. The
greatness endowed by Sasa Mahapurush
yoga is to function as “head of the
village.” Fortifying and expanding this,
Jupiter is retrograde and debilitated,
which makes a planet act as if exalted.2
Jupiter is in Abhijit nakshatra, the
four-degree-plus span that makes up for
the shortfall between a lunar and solar
month. In Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna
gives encomiums to this place of victory
that in Greek mythology corresponds to
Hercules. “Among nakshatras, I am
Abhijit.” The Sun occupies the nakshatra
of Abhijit, the Conqueror, every January
20th or so when the President of the
U.S. is inaugurated.
Further, in this
horoscope Jupiter sends an aspect to the
Sun in Jupiter’s sign of exaltation. Sun
is in the 10th from the Arudha Lagna in
Libra. Libra is the ascendant for the
USA, and the link from AL of the
candidate to Lagna of the nation is
significant, as he can be perceived as a
spokesman for the country. (Married
partners are often linked similarly,
where the AL of one is trine, opposite
or conjunct the Lagna of the other.)
Capricorn as a Lagna
Capricorn as a lagna is
fortunate and effective, as Capricorn
being ruled by the tamasic planet Saturn
and being of cardinal or rajasic
modality, has its effect in the
remaining guna, the sattvic guna. The
three gunas rajas, sattva and tamas, or
restlessness, contraction, and
equipoise, are braided together through
the qualities of signs and their rulers.
The interaction of these modes accounts
for everything we perceive in the world
of maya. Aries, Taurus, Sagittarius,
Capricorn, and Pisces are the sattvic-in-effect
rashis. With a sattvic lagna, he can get
things done. He can explain how he gets
things done. He can communicate in a
modulated and balanced way. He acts from
reason.
Capricorn besides being
poised in effect is a hybrid creature,
part mountain goat and part sea monster,
just as Senator Obama is born of a
Kenyan and a Caucasian. The mountain
goat represents hard work, the struggle
with small means to achieve large ends,
seen as the Harvard Law graduate taking
on a community organizer’s job at
minimal pay, while the sea monster
crystallizes unconscious archetypes,
such as this country’s historical taint
of racism which is one large barrier the
candidate has to fly past.
Obama is noted for his
oratory, shown by the 2nd house, where
Ketu, the flag of office, has mutual
rasi dristi with the Sun and Mercury —
talking his route to the Presidency.
This is a highway into the American ear,
for Ketu is exactly conjunct the USA
Moon in Aquarius. The USA Moon is
probably the most focal planet in the
USA chart, because of its participation
in maha parivartana, a great exchange,
with Rahu, co-lord of Aquarius,
powerfully situated at the USA zenith.
The USA is running Moon dasha now, until
mid June of 2010.
Senator Obama’s Ketu is
disposited by Saturn, whose overweening
influence we find in the first house, so
this accounts for how unstrained and
natural Obama comes across in his
new-found fame. (Ketu in the 2nd also
shows him as a smoker, who quit before
the campaign.) He has his wits under
immediate command. Saturn has mutual
rasi dristi with the Mars Rahu
combination in Leo. Mars is Atma Karaka,
or soul lesson for all the planets —
learn to act, to fight, not just to
imagine —, occupying the sign of
political power, Leo. Capricorn and Leo
are two approaches to governing.
Capricorn is the natural sign of the
executive while Leo, a rajasic-in-effect
sign, seeks to maintain continuity of
authority.
The nakshatra lord of
the Lagna point is exalted Moon, in its
favorite nakshatra of Rohini.
The Obama campaign has
created a new paradigm in election
fund-raising. Mammoth waves of
contributions keep rolling in helped by
online configurations by techies and the
innovative organizing by Silicon Valley
power and finance brokers who early on
latched on to the new candidate. Money
is found in various places in a chart,
including in earth signs, and especially
in the 5th and 9th houses, where this
chart has exalted Moon, the lady
bountiful. Also, Jaimini says the 11th
from the Arudha Lagna is where income is
shown. Here the chart has Rahu for
internet networking and Mars, the Atma
Karaka, highest degree planet, holding
kingship over all other planets in a
chart at the karmic level. The 2nd Lord
is in Lagna; the 11th lord is in the
11th from the AL and they both have rasi
dristi on each other providing plenty of
opportunity to rake in the assets.
Five Qualities of Time
The panchang, the
five limbs or five qualities of
time, for this birth is highly
telling. The day lord provides the
energy level. The karana lord shows
the professional trajectory. Venus
fills both these roles and is the
weakest part of the panchang,
showing that work consumes his
energy and perhaps can drain health;
but since Venus is bhava vargottama,
occupying the same house in rasi and
navamsa, it garners extra strength.
The joy of success brings a lot of
energy.
Moon is the lord of
the tithi, and as well situated as
it is provides huge blessings in
relationships, but Moon as tithi
lord also sounds some alarm as it is
blemished by its relation to the day
of birth. The flaw is called
Hutaashan, meaning fire, the eater
of sacrifice. It can cause alarms,
fear, and fires. When Moon as tithi
lord has problems, they are remedied
by meditation on the lord of the
opposing tithi in Kalachakra, the
wheel of time. Opposite Moon in the
Kalachakra is Jupiter, so Senator
Obama needs to work out relationship
problems by concentrating on the
best qualities of Jupiter. This
dynamic has already wafted to the
top as the flap over Obama’s former
minister, Reverend Jeremiah Wright,
and his incendiary comments, fed
flames of revulsion in the media and
cost some percentage points in some
primaries, spotlighting the need for
more work with Jupiter.
The nakshatra is
Krittika, the “Celestial General,”
which is the leader of all the
nakshatras in old ways of reckoning
the zodiac, and still today starts
off the Sarvatobhadra Chakra, and is
disposited by Sun. The nakshatra
component of the panchang governs
the fate as it is the Saturn
component, and it guides the pranas.
Each sharp intake of breath has a
certain intention, shown by the
nakshatra dispositor. The Sun is the
intentionality, the task dealt by
fate.
Fifth, the yoga in
the panchang comes where Sun and
Moon’s degrees are united, then
halved, and projected from Pushya,
place of the priest. Sen. Obama’s
Yogi point falls exactly at the
Galactic Center, the massive and
stunning source of gravitational
energy for our galaxy, at about 2
degrees Sagittarius. The rishis knew
the importance of this zone, for
they called this Yoga Dhruva,
meaning the Pole Star, or that which
all other energies gravitate around.
This area, whose star lord is the
Yogi — Ketu, for Sen. Obama — is a
rallying point and a source of
spiritual and financial power.
When the
nomination?
All that remains for
Sen. Obama to clinch the nomination
is a few primaries, and of course, a
withdrawal by Hillary Clinton. This
is practically speaking, for the
formal nomination will not occur
until the August Democratic
convention in Denver. In “Predicting
the President IX” the weekend of
June 13th was picked out by transits
to Ms. Clinton’s Kota Chakra. Let’s
inspect the Obama Sarvatobhadra
Chakra to see its concurrence or
not.

The same weekend again looks like
a big shift. Transit Ketu will be in
Mula, the nakshatra of the Yoga, its
own domain. Transit Sun and Venus in
D10 will put vedhas onto natal Moon.
Transit Jupiter in D10 will cross
the natal 10 Lord Venus in the D10.
Many other transits support the day.
The next installment of the
series will contrast the charts of
the ultimate contenders, and plot
the path to the fall election.

Here
also the outer planets……. Although
Vedic astrology’s traditions emerge
long long before the outer planets
were formally known, the
perspectives of these later
interlopers have and do contribute
additional prescience. Like gems
heaved out from the further out,
more distant in time, but still
rippling revolutions of the still
roiling cosmic sea of milk around
Mount Mandara, these newly known
outer planets reveal themselves as
late gifts in latter times. They are
not strangers, but carry messages,
and can be sensed to represent some
of the gods who, once strong in the
Vedic hymns, faded somewhat, like
Prajapati, and Varuna, while in the
west they are named for the mythic
Ouranos and Neptune and Pluto. These
outer planets are the spawn of Rahu.
Although they rule no rashis, their
transits are indeed indicative of
many cyclical shifts in the
collective and in the individual
life. Ouranos is the sky father,
sire of Kronos (Saturn) and
grandsire of Jupiter. Ouranos also
fathered the Cyclops and the Titans,
and in turn was castrated and killed
by the Titans when he attempted to
bind down these, his very own sons’,
ferocious power. Like Ouranos,
although far less aggressive,
Prajapati, sung of in the Rg Veda,
is a creator father god with many
offspring, eventually including the
entire human race. He is known in
some epics as a guardian of the sex
organ. He represents the sustaining
reward of sacrifice, the endless
continuation of life as long as the
price is paid, while his Western
counterpart Ouranos focuses on the
payment that sometimes can be made
only through rebellion, and freedom
attained sometimes through bloody
struggle and even incestuous civil
war. Varuna, lord of fate and
oceans, master and knower of the
karmas engendered by the secret
machinations of the heart, is the
Eastern counterpart of Neptune; and
Yama, the one half of Saturn’s soul
who bore the curse of his stepmother
that he must limp and brood and
smolder, like Pluto was made god of
the world beyond death.
ii
For a
bit more testimony that a retrograde
Jupiter does reverse its effect when
exalted or debilitated to the
opposite polarity, consider the
horoscope of the Chief Justice of
the Supreme Court, John Roberts.
Chief Justice Roberts (born
1/27/1955 7:30 am Buffalo NY) has
Capricorn Lagna with Jupiter exalted
in the first degree of Cancer and
retrograde. Recently he was rebuked
in print by Federal Appeals Court
Judge Richard Posner, characterized
as “a conservative icon,” by Linda
Greenhouse writing in the New York
Times. Judge Posner criticized Chief
Justice Roberts for failing to keep
promises made during his
confirmation hearings before
Congress. The Chief Justice-to-be in
sworn testimony said he would “seek
consensus, and […] lead the court in
speaking in a modest judicial
voice,” according to Greenhouse.
Posner wrote: “The tension between
what he said at his confirmation
hearing and what he is doing as a
justice is a blow to Roberts’s
reputation for candor and a further
debasement of the already debased
currency of the testimony of
nominees at judicial confirmation
hearings.” Greenhouse further
comments: “Such words from Richard
Posner would cause any member of the
court, let alone a relatively new
and young chief justice who
undoubtedly admires him, to swallow
hard.”
This
illustrates how an exalted and
retrograde Jupiter, symbol of the
judiciary, functions as a
debilitated Jupiter. Excerpted from
New York Times.
